`My grandfathers were both lawyers.  My father and his two brothers were lawyers.  So naturally my first career choice was either photographer or worm farmer.  After a four year term in the U.S. Navy following a tumultuous high school education I discovered that I really had a passion for learning.  I completed junior college in Champaign Illinois and then started a business administration degree at the University of Illinois.  Once I started the business administration program I was hooked on business.  I attended the University of Puget Sound School of Law where I concentrated on tax and business related coursework.  After graduating from the University of Puget Sound I attended Boston University and received a Master in Tax Law.

For the last 30 years I have had the pleasure of working with small business owners and assisting them with their business challenges.  I have worked with medical practices including veterinary, dental and human medicine professionals.  I work  with real estate developers, contractors and brokers.  I have assisted numerous clients with state and federal tax challenges.

I am frequently asked what I like most about the practice of law.  The answer is that it is the opportunity to learn, learn and learn some more.  My biggest secret?  I  spent 30 hours one winter in front of the television watching economics lectures.

So what do we do?

I have represented dozens of business during mergers and acquisitions.  These businesses represent a spectrum of different types of business with deal values from thousands of dollars to tens of millions of dollars.

I have represented clients in mediations, arbitrations and litigation and have successfully taken cases to the court of appeals when necessary.  Our most recent success story was Salewski v. Pilchuck Veterinary Hospital – a precedent setting case in the Court of Appeals.

I have worked with land developers with projects including residential, commercial and specialty condominium projects including aircraft hangar projects.   We have assisted with land development projects including Mill Creek.  We work with buyers and sellers of real estate and have handled residential, commercial and special use real estate projects of all sizes.

Recognizing that representing the business owners means more than just the immediate business needs I also represent clients of all types with estate planning and succession planning including wills, power of attorneys and trusts.
